COVID-19 is a deadly disease that has no vaccine except for taking precautions. It is spreading like a steady stream. Nothing can stop it. It is a respiratory infection that gets transmitted to one another being. It happens when an infected person coughs or sneezes, the salvia that is discharged through mouth or nose gets in contact with something that is next to the infected person. Eventually, the other person will also get infected. Not only through human beings, but it can also spread through contaminated surfaces and objects. People are confusing this life-taking disease with flu. It is not just flu, it something more than that. No vaccine or anti-biotic are working against it.
The basic symptoms of this life taking virus are dry cough, tiredness (body pain), and fever. Whereas, severe symptoms include diarrhea, discoloration on feet (specifically on toes and fingers) aches, and pains, loss of taste or smell, rashes on the skin, sore throat, and conjunctivitis. Surgical Mask: You can protect yourself for 3 to 8 hours, only. When the wearer breathes the droplets are filtered by the character of the mask, hence protecting the wearer.
Respirator Mask: The respirator mask comes in two categories: filtering and insulating. Respirators Masks have 3 different classes according to their efficiency.
FFP 1: It provides 80% protection against the infectious germs and allows 20% to 22% leakage. It offers the least protection against germs.
FFP 2: This category provides 94% protection (i.e. filtration) and 6% to 8% leakage. This type of mask is currently used for protection against corona virus.
FFP 3: It delivers 98% protection and 1% to 2% leakage. This means it is the most useful mask during the pandemic.
After the particulate classes, we have different classes of oil-resistant respirators.
Class N: It provides the least or no oil resistance. It further has different 3 categories: N95, N99, and N100. As its figure says itself; N95 provides 95% protection, N99 provides 99% protection and N100 provides 100% protection against threatening particles.
Class R: It provides moderate protection against oil. It can resist oil up to 8 to 9 hours. It also comes in 3 different categories; R95, R99, and R100.
Class P: It is known as a complete oil-resistant mask. It also has 3 subtypes; P95, P99, and P100.
Unvalved Respirator Mask: Valves are important to help in reducing suffocation. People who wear glasses must know that how suffocating a mask can be. Valves are a little piece of plastic, in the center of the mask, near the nose and mouth area. It prompts the passage of air. This tiny plastic piece will avoid sweaty and stuffy situations Particulate Respirator Mask: This type of mask is known to be an “air-purifying respirator.” The core purpose of this type of mask is to stiff the health of hazardous particles while inhaling.
N95: The N95 mask is 95% efficient. The mask is made up of non-woven polypropylene fiber material. The little minute holes in the mask allow air to cross. This reduces the suffocation.
GOWNS:
Isolation gown: Ansari Group LTD. has made sure to provide very comfortable gowns. Smart features include elastic cuffs, knit cuffs, thumb loop, hook and loop closure, and tape tab neck closure for wearing it and taking it off conveniently. The gowns are made up of polypropylene. This makes it low in weight and very light to wear.
Surgical gown: It is made up of Spunbond Meltblown Spunbond, known as SMS. This soft fabric is a non-woven based fabric. It allows the ventilation but unwelcome the germs and microorganisms. There are two types of the surgical gown:
Reinforced: This type of gown is more durable and fortify vigorously against the contaminated fluids.
Non-reinforced: The other type of gown is less durable and doesn’t fight strenuously against the fluids.
Gloves:
PVC Surgical Gloves (Non-Medical): PVC gloves are made up of synthetic, non- bio-degradable, protein-free material known as Polyvinyl Chloride and plasticizers. This type of gloves doesn’t use rubber latex. Hence it is suitable for people who suffer from rubber latex allergy.
Nitrile Gloves (Medical use): Nitrile gloves are 3x more resistant than other types of gloves. It has the longest shelf life. It can also survive in high temperatures. It comes in different thickness, shelf life, powdered and non-powdered.
